Black Forest, CO – 4Rivers Equipment, is excited to have one of their customers, Neil Behnke, as a finalist in John Deere’s “Small Machine. Big Impact.” contest.
John Deere launched its second annual “Small Machines. Big Impact.” contest back in January, which encouraged construction contractors, landscapers, farmers and rental industry professionals across the country to share how they would make a positive difference in their communities if they were to win a new John Deere G-Series machine. The entrant with the most impactful project idea will win his/her choice of a new John Deere G-Series skid steer or compact track loader and one Worksite Pro™ attachment.
Black Forest native, Neil Behnke, entered the contest in hopes of helping his community recover from the devastating fires during the summer of 2013, in which 14,000 acres and 500 homes were lost. Five years later, most of the devastation still exists due to the lack of equipment needed to remove the debris left behind.
Black Forest Together is a strictly a volunteer based group formed by active members of the community, in which Behnke is a member of. He jumped at the chance to enter Deere’s contest in hopes of winning a machine small enough to navigate through the Black Forest, yet powerful enough to help remove all the remnants from the 2013 fires.
Behnke’s story was powerful enough to capture the attention of John Deere as well as position him as a finalist in the contest. Now the people will decide his fate. John Deere opens voting to the public June 4th. People can vote once per day through June 24th via the online link: https://impact.deere.com/?cid=VURL_impact.
